Pakoras are afternoon snack in India and there are many ways to make them. Every kitchen has potato and onion and that is why for this potato and onion pakoras recipe you won’t have to run to the nearest store. Spices can be changed depending on your taste and what you have in the kitchen. If available you can add fresh chopped spinach.
Ingredients:
- 0.5 kg of potato
- 0.2 kg of onion
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of Vegeta
- 1/3 teaspoon of curry powder
- 1 green chili
- 0.2 kg of flour
- 1 teaspoon of sesame seed
- oil for frying
- Grate potato, add chopped onion, salt, vegeta, red chili powder, curry powder, chopped green chili, sesame seed and flour.
- Knead slowly without adding water because the onion and potato will slowly soften. This mixture should stay a bit sticky but not too liquid.
- Prepare frying pan and pour oil.
- When oil is hot enough take mixture and shape pakoras on your palm or use a spoon.
- Fry pakoras until they are golden brown and drain on paper towel.
