15 Health Benefits of Poppy Seed

 Poppy seeds have been used even in ancient Egypt because of special flavor and many health benefits. Even then Egyptians knew how to get those seeds from the poppy and use them as a spice or to get oil from them. Today poppy seed is widely used, but many people are not aware how many health benefits of poppy seeds is there. 

Health benefits of poppy seed:
  1. Poppy seed prevents heart diseases because of linoleic acid they contain 
  2. Improves digestion 
  3. Treating whooping cough 
  4. Poppy seed oil contains oleic acid and therefore very good treatment for breast cancer 
  5. Rich in carbohydrates 
  6. Good source of B-complex vitamins 
  7. Helps with asthma 
  8. Good source of omega-3 fatty acid 
  9. Treating insomnia 
  10. Regulate blood pressure 
  11. Rich in minerals such are iron, potassium, zinc, manganese, copper and magnesium 
  12. Treating many nervous disorders 
  13. Stops diarrhea 
  14. Lowers bad cholesterol 
  15. Rich in dietary fiber
