Panzerotti are filled, soft and tasty pastries which come in different shapes from triangle, round to square. This pastry is very popular in Italy, but around the world as well. Basically you can fill them with anything you like, but this is my favorite combination. Let your imagination do the work and you maybe come up with better and more tasty filling.
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of flour
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 brewer’s yeast
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- sour cream
- ketchup
- ham
- mozarella
Preparation:
- Put the flour on the pastry board like a fountain, pour the sugar in the middle, the salt and the yeast melted in two glasses of tepid water.
- Mix well and add some tepid water till you obtain a very soft and elastic dough.
- Make a block, cover it with a cloth and let it rising (in a hot place), half an hour will be enough.
- When the rising has finished, take the block, work it one more time and get from it few balls, big as an orange.
- Cover them again with a wet cloth and let them rising for half an hour.
- Now make from the small balls disks or squares of 15 cm of diameter.
- Half of square cover with mozzarella, ham, sour cream and ketchup.
- Close them carefully and well press around edges.
- Leave to rise a little bit more.
- Fry until golden and serve warm.
