Almost every kitchen these days is loaded with all those high tech toys for grinding, mixing, cooking, baking. Many people still can't imagine living without microwave and heating up ready-made food. Life became nothing but rush and following this lifestyle we stopped preparing food ways it has been done for 1000s of years and simply moved to new technologies which eventually show as not so good for our health.
There's nothing so good as food cooked on a wood stove. Just imagine that heat coming from the stove, spreading around your kitchen, family gathers around, helping with cooking or bringing the wood, sound of slow burning fire, smell of nearly baked bread coming from the oven and nice aroma of fresh cooked dishes filling that space. That's how life should be... slow, tasty and healthy. That's how kitchen should be, place of joy for the whole family.
If you don't want to replace your modern stove with one of these "old-timers", maybe you should think about getting one just for winter days, and when around Christmas family gathers, you start fire in that wood stove and all prepare favorite food together. Going back to old days can be fun and who knows, you may decide to continue using it throughout the winter.
