Growing Tomatoes in Containers

Sunday, February 01, 2015 | Publish by My CookBook

Old ways of growing tomatoes are known to many, but did you know you can grow tomato on your balcony too? Many people don’t have much space in their garden or they just have a balcony. That is why growing tomatoes in containers became very popular. Not only you can grow it on your balcony, but you can also move tomatoes anywhere else in need.

How to start growing tomatoes in containers? That is easy. Find big enough container, at least 30 square centimeters, fill it with soil rich with humus. Humus rich soil is very important for growth of your plants. Prepare tomato plants from seed in your nursery or you can buy ready if you are just experimenting. Later you can save your seed and start growing from scratch. And remember, tomato likes sun, which means to choose the sunny side of your garden or your balcony with at least 6-8 h of sun a day.

Why growing your tomato? Did you know that most farmers and even big companies for pollination use hormones instead of bees because that is the easiest way? Do you know how harmful is such food for your health? Now add to that a number of other chemicals used on tomato. That is what you eat if you are buying tomato on the market or in a shop. To grow your own tomato in containers takes only a few minutes of your time a day. Why not to try?
